We may have celebrated Helen Sepman’s PhD defense a little too hard, because somehow, nearly a month has passed before anyone thought to write about it! On May 15th, Helen successfully defended her thesis Machine Learning Tools to Identify Risk Drivers in Water, and she can now proudly go by Dr. Sepman.
Professor Leon Barron from Imperial College London served as the opponent, and the examination committee included Helena Idborg (Karolinska Institutet), Daniel Globisch (Uppsala University), and Peter Spégel (Lund University).
We are all incredibly proud of Helen’s achievement, though her defense does come with a bittersweet twist, as it also marks her departure from our team. We will miss her greatly, but we have no doubt that she’ll thrive in her upcoming postdoc in Switzerland. Wishing her all the best in this exciting next chapter!
